Great Virginia Beach Date Ideas

They say that Virginia is for lovers and that is certainly the case when it comes to Virginia Beach. Not only is this resort town home to the largest city population (and the biggest pool of prospects) in the state, but it is also ideally located for entertainment of any kind. Whether you’re into the nightlife or prefer a simple stroll along the beach, you can plan the perfect date in Virginia Beach—and we can help. It’s as easy as 1,2,3!

1. We Came For the Beaches—Of course, the first date idea that comes to mind here is one that takes advantage of the gorgeous natural scenery in the area. Bring your date to one of the miles of public beach or, better yet, to some of the less crowded protected beach areas like those within First Landing State Park. Take a picnic along to extend and fuel a day of fun in the sun or foster togetherness taking in the sunset from an ocean view restaurant.

2. Fun and Games—Dates work well with some kind of game or activity to act as social grease. A contest of skill combined with a little beer and some tasty snacks will help you and your date to loosen up and enjoy each other’s company. That makes a trip to the bowling alley with bowling pro shop or the local pool place an excellent way to spend a first date. As an added bonus, you can avoid the cliché of simply going to the movie theater.

3. It’s All About the Night Life, Baby—Finally, consider taking in Virginia Beach’s thriving concert and club scene. Taking your date out drinking and dancing may be traditional, but it will always get the blood pumping. Alternatively, check out a live show at one of the many bars and clubs on the boardwalk for a little high-class entertainment.

We ‘R the Pirates of Pieces of Eight!! / VA Beach oceanfront

I was completely impressed this past summer when I went on an oceanfront cruise hosted by the crew of the Pieces of Eight. If you ever get a chance, either here in VA Beach, or down south towards Orlando (winter), GO on this cruise- especially if you have kids! The drinks (non-alcoholic) were free, the snacks were cheap, the pirate hats were free, there were tons of games for the kids WITH the crew, and the best part was the whole crew staying completely in character for the duration of the 90 minute cruise. Excellent! This snipit is from their theme song.
