Stoked for Stacks

Abbey should be excited about this post because it includes more photos from woodpiles in Vermont.

metallic birches

These amazing birch logs at my Father-in-law’s (also named Bob) have turned all metallic and pealing beautiful. You might remember my other photos of his woodpile which have made their way around my blog block.

This photo taken by BobDad (that’s easier to type) is of his parents’ wood pile. It’s a good illustration of their overall well-stocked and organized home.

And while we’re on the subject of stacks, this is a vertical collection of floral patterned mattresses back at BobDad’s.

Like I said, Scan of the Day will likely not be a daily post, but here is the latest installment:

Can you guess what it is? If it’s really late at night and your eyes are getting tired, the tags below will give you a clue.

I’ve just put these new linen coasters in the front window of my Etsy Shop. I love the combination of the electric lemon yellow with linen. They would do nicely to show off your famous lemonade or a killer mojito!

I love how these turned out. I paired the Mosaic plant in bright, warm weather colors on Vineyard Green with my beloved yellow vintage printed tablecloth cotton. Yes, an actual vintage tablecloth; wonderfully soft but still durable since it comes from a time when more things were made well. Modern, handmade, and [...]

Our final day we picniced and walked along the beach at Torrey Pines State Reserve

We hiked a few of the shorter trails and even saw a rattlesnake that was too quick for my camera. For city folk like us, seeing a rattle snake in the wild is a big deal.

California poppies. I’ve since planted some [...]

A few of my favorite shots from San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park in Escondito:

We closed out the day with dinner and great Australian beer at The Bondi in the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego.

Day 3 of our trip to San Diego was a beautiful day of walking around and visiting the museums and gardens at Balboa Park

Bob’s fly new hat served very well in the California sun.

Balboaparkclownfig

This is a Clown Fig. I wish these would grow in New England.

Balboaparkjapanesegarden

Me in the Japanese Friendship Garden. Had some great buckwheat soba noodle/ tofu soup at The Tea Pavillion.

Still being on California time makes for productive evenings but rough mornings, so I’ll use this opportunity to share a couple of images from day two of the San Diego trip: Anza Borrego Desert State Reserve.

It felt good to be out in the sun for a change, but it proved to be a little too [...]

New in My Shop…

I recently added this set of 6 Hexagon Coasters to my Etsy shop. They’re the last product on which you’ll be able to get my bubbles print since I just retired it to make room in my collection for some great new patterns. Get your (extremely) limited edition (only two sets made!) linen and [...]

GRAND SALE

So that I can spend Christmas enjoying family rather than working on my shop, I’ve posted my post-Christmas and Boxing Day (hello, Canada!) sales now. The folks over at Poppytalk Handmade (where I have a virtual street market table through the first week in January) have inspired me to learn more about the international [...]
