I currently live in Atlanta, GA but I am originally from North VA (Fairfax County). However I lived there as a small kid and I don't really know much about Virginia except that it is very beautiful there. I am almost finished with my bachelors in nursing and would like to relocate to the VA Beach area because I always loved that particular area. I'm sure VA Beach is higher than Atlanta. However my question is how much higher? How high are housing, insurance, taxes, etc? Would moving to Norfolk instead be more cost efficient? Any suggestions as far as neighborhoods. I love the city life and I'm not too fond of the country or small towns. I'm 21, single, no kids, enjoy good restaurants, shopping, music, occasionally going to clubs, love bar hangouts, the beach, and sports. Thanks in advance.
I am going to Virginia beach the weekend of the 1st for the Rockstar Mayhem Festival with one of my best friends. We are 18 and 19. We're just wondering what is the nightlife like? No we dont drink (underage obviously) but what about some clubs, live music or dj is cool, also any kind of music. What are some good restaurants to check out too? anything else we should try to do while we are there?

I am going to Virginia Beach area on vacation at the end of June. I used to have a half a dozen favorite restaurants there more than 10 years ago. Alas, now Duck-In and and Anchor Inn are gone. My girlfriend and I will be in the Crown Plaza area of Virginia Beach on Saturday night. She wants an excuse to dress up. She has a beautiful black dress. I have a black suit and tie.
