I live in Virginia Beach, VA and would like to know how much a busboy can walk home with in tips. Will it be possible for them to walk away with $100 on busy weekend night? How much does the staff give their busboys.

They make the minimum wage that servers make in that state. I live in Illinois and it’s $4.65/hour here plus tips. I know in other states it’s as less than $3 and hour! I work at Ponderosa and it is very very rare for anyone to walk away with $100. The only time I have made that amount was on an 8 hour Saturday lunchtime shift. Most people don’t tip very well at these places, and some tip nonthing at all I wouldn’t apply at one of the buffet places as a server (servers bus the tables as well) as you won’t make much. Apply at a traditional resturant.

world of differnce between a buffet and a sit down restaurant. Busboys at IHOP do well.
