im in virginia and not sure when the water will be warm enough...ive been surfing for 5 years but really only in the summer....but with my new job i have weekends off and can go on saturdays and sundays now....i have a full suit but no booties or gloves or a cap.....im not even sure how think the suit is to be honest bc someine gave it to me and it doesnt say the waters in the mid 40s now....what temp would be good to stary going.... ps---i was thinking maybe 60ish....but when will the water get there in va beach?
Unless you are a wimp, you could go right now. However, I prefer the water a little warmer (’cause I’m old, not because I’m a wimp), like 50 or so. A full suit, booties and gloves and you’ll be good. If you surf in VA Beach it will be 50 degrees by April Fool’s day. I do the low 50′s in 4/3, by the high 50′s im in a full length 3/2.
