I am looking for somewhere nice to go with my husband. I recently moved to Va and don't know much. I found the following places and was wondering if anyone recommends them or recommends anywhere else. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help! -Chesapeake bay bridge-tunnel -Va beach (don't exactly know good hotels, restaurants, or must visit places) -Virginia crossing resort
If you can keep from being hypnotized by the road, Skyline Drive is GORGEOUS. It is 15 mph for the entire drive, but the scenery is breath taking. There are all kinds of things to explore along the way, so stop often and do a little poking around. It may sound a bit morbid, but some of the old cemeteries along the way, are very nice.
Natural Bridge is a great place to see. It was surveyed by none other than George Washington, himself. There is a museum there too, that is just wild. You’ll come face to face with Robert E. Lee himself! lol
Luray Caverns is very nice. (Natural Bridge has caverns too, I believe) If they ask you how deep the water is, tell them 18 inches. They’ll know you’ve either visited the other caverns, are a repeat visitor, or have had contact with a previous visitor. lol
Busch Gardens is always a lot of fun. So is King’s Dominion. It all depends on what you want to do, how much you want to spend, and how far you want to drive.
No matter where you go, have fun. Virginia has some very pretty areas, and TONS of history to explore.
