Virginia Beach - The Place to Be

Moving To the Virginia Beach area?

I currently live in Atlanta, GA but I am originally from North VA (Fairfax County). However I lived there as a small kid and I don't really know much about Virginia except that it is very beautiful there. I am almost finished with my bachelors in nursing and would like to relocate to the VA Beach area because I always loved that particular area. I'm sure VA Beach is higher than Atlanta. However my question is how much higher? How high are housing, insurance, taxes, etc? Would moving to Norfolk instead be more cost efficient? Any suggestions as far as neighborhoods. I love the city life and I'm not too fond of the country or small towns. I'm 21, single, no kids, enjoy good restaurants, shopping, music, occasionally going to clubs, love bar hangouts, the beach, and sports. Thanks in advance.

I would say VA Beach is much cheaper to live than Atlanta. Housing is cheaper and I know car insurance is cheaper. I’m not sure about taxes but Atlanta is very expensive to live.

VA Beach is a fairly small area, though there is plenty to do and see. Though no matter where you live you won’t be more than 20 minutes from whereever you want to go. I would live in VA Beach over Norfolk or Newport News but really it depends on where the hospital is that you get a job. I’d want to be close to my job even if I had to drive 10 more minutes for the beach.
