I still can't find a decent Wrangler to buy. I'm looking for a '98 -'00 with low miles. Six cylinder is a must. I surf fish and don't want to put my new truck on the beach. I have been looking on e-bay, autotrader and craigs list in Hampton Roads Virginia since I live in Chesapeake, Virginia. If anyone has or knows of a good wrangler for sale, please let me know................................ HELP
A good one is NOT going to be cheap. You probably need to increase the amount that you expect to pay. There’s hundreds of them on ebay.
Jeep vehicles, particularly Wranglers, hold their value VERY well especially in the northeast and mid-atlantic regions.
I purchased my ‘98 Wrangler Sport five-speed with the inline-six for $7k with 118k miles. It runs GREAT. I found mine on one of those online car sale sites, I think it was autoshopper.com or something.
‘98 -’00 with low mileage will most certainly fetch a price of $8-10k, probably more. You will be hard press to find one for cheaper than that, as I got very lucky when I found mine.
To find what your looking for, your probably going to have to look either at an older model (’93-96) or a ‘98-00 Wrangler with high miles. I’ve heard the 5-speed manuals with the I-6 are built like tanks though and last exceptionally long if treated well.
If I come accross one I’ll let you know, I bought 2 1978 cj5 this weekend. If your interested in the older ones I find them all day long.
Just a heads up but on the Inline 6 in 2000 the TJ went from Cap and rotor to Coil packs with no more wire and distributor. Also in that year changed the steering wheel and few other minor inside stuff.
1997 When the TJ first came out I have found a select few 97 TJs for about $7K down here in Houston about the cheapest I have seen. Good luck with your search
